What’s Underneath This GT3 RS: The Sound That Replaces the Crowd for Hunter Lawrence After a Race

What an exciting couple of days it’s been for Hunter and Jett Lawrence. Fresh off a solid run at Spring Creek MX with a top podium finish, the brothers are doing what they do best—putting in work and making it count on the track.

Soak in the win, guys. You’ve earned it.

But there’s more than just trophies in Hunter’s world. In the GYPSY TALES podcast, he opened up about how his second passion started. When the boots come off and the helmet’s hung up, Hunter swaps two wheels for four. And for him, it's sports cars—fast ones, modified ones. A reward for the years of grind he’s put in.

“Get to a position where you can buy some sick cars. That’s success for me.”

His first dip into the sports car scene? A BMW M2 Competition. And we all know the simple pleasures that started it for many of us—cruising around with mates, hitting up late-night dinner spots. That’s why we love cars. They take us places and create memories.

Back when garage space was tight—like it always is for every petrolhead—Hunter would experiment with different cars. These days, the cars in his collection have already been with him for a few years.

But there’s a new addition. When Porsche unveiled the 2024 992 911 GT3 RS, Hunter knew right away—this one had to join the collection. The aggressive aero, the motorsport pedigree, the presence—it checked every box. And as luck would have it, his Paint to Sample request was approved. The car rolled in wearing a jaw-dropping Viola Metallic.I’m in love with it as well.

Like any true petrolhead, he's running into the classic problem: I need more space. Maybe a full-blown custom shop is next—performance mods, body kits, wraps, PPF. Especially PPF. He finds peace in it. Layering paint protection film is a way to disconnect and unwind from the race mode.

But the RS wasn’t going to stay stock—not after experiencing what the aftermarket world had to offer. His first taste of a high-RPM, naturally aspirated, straight-pipe setup came from his brother Jett’s F12. There’s no coming back from that. That’s real driver engagement.

At Fi, we believe sound travels with the driver—it amplifies every moment behind the wheel. It’s about feeling connected to the machine. So when Hunter wanted to unlock that raw, motorsport-inspired tone, we knew exactly what to do.

The factory headers and rear muffler had to go. Sorry not sorry.

Fi’s full catless setup went in. And the GT3 RS is officially uncaged—and ready to rip.
