Porsche 718 GT4 RS Dyno-Proven Gains – No ECU Tuning Required

 

Here’s what makes the Fi EXHAUST system stand apart: real-world wheel horsepower increases without the need for ECU tuning.

 

We love working on Porsche sport models, and RS variants always hold a special place for our development team. One question guides everything we do: How can we deliver noticeable, repeatable, real-world results for our drivers?

Dyno-Tested Performance You Can Trust

We wanted to see exactly how our catless exhaust setup would perform compared to the factory system. To find out, we replaced the restrictive stock components and put a 718 GT4 RS on a Dynojet dyno for testing. The results were significant: a gain of +17.2 WHP and +6.1 Nm of torque, all achieved without any ECU tuning. The tests were done on a North American Non-OPF model. 

 

Stock Output:
 458.35 WHP @ 8,150 RPM
 330.34 Nm torque @ 6,020 RPM

After Fi EXHAUST Upgrade:
 475.58 WHP @ 8,080 RPM
 336.43 Nm torque @ 5,890 RPM

 

The setup we tested to achieve these performance gains included a valvetronic muffler and over-axle pipes. At Fi EXHAUST, we sometimes refer to over-axle pipes as downpipes, so you may see both terms used interchangeably.

 

Why No Tuning Is Required

Because on over axle pipes on Non-OPF GT4 RS are unmonitored, their replacement won’t trigger a CEL. Only header-mounted O2 sensors are critical for emissions monitoring.

 

Our recommendation for Non-OPF vehicles: Pair the Fi EXHAUST over-axle pipes and valved muffler to achieve the most invigorating sound profile without requiring tuning or risking any CEL. This setup has been tested in real world conditions with zero issues. The result: no CEL, no warning lights, no ECU flash needed.

 

For OPF-equipped models (typically European-spec), over axle pipes are monitored and tuning would be required to prevent CEL from being triggered.
